Lets Talk- Summer Plans

Hi- Most of you are probably still celebrating your long weekend... while I am over here like....

It has been one long weekend alright.

I am so happy to finally be thinking and talking about summer... Yay, it is finally here...

Our summers here are really short... I feel like we wait all 10 months of dark and gloom for the best days of our lives... and if your asking yourself "why doesn't she just move" well, we ask that of ourselves every day... except during the months of July/August and we remind ourselves comes September when the leaves are turning and we are picking apples and baking pies that we love it here.

Not only is our summer short but Matt has it cut in half.  Everything I have, he has 50% of, so our time is very important.  Our main goal every summer is to spend more time on the boat.  I think that will probably be our summer plan this year.   We go up to Lake Winnepesaukee in NH and stay at the cabin.  It is so calm and quiet up there.

In the winter it is just as fun.   We can take our snowmobiles through the trails to get dinner, cozy up by the fire... read, relax and just shut out the rest of the world.

I mentioned before that we do have a trip planned to Story Land with the kids for a week.   We are really looking forward to that as we are also going to be meeting our friends up there with their kids also.  I think it is going to be so much fun.

I would also like to book a long weekend to Block Island and stay at The Barn.  We went for a few days when Ryan was just born.  We had a blast.  It was so nice to just sit back and relax, sleep in, dine out...

Where we stayed....

This is The Spring House.  They have all these white chairs facing the ocean.

The Spring House at night.

The Oar restaurant where we ate and had the best mudslides.

The ferry ride to and from the island.

Can't forget we have birthday parties to plan... Evan will be turning 4 and Ryan will be turning 2 this summer..

Evan's 1st birthday

We had a little petting zoo come.

& pony rides.  Matt also hooked up his tractor to the trailer, loaded it with hay and gave everyone hay rides around the field.

We did cupcakes for his party.

We did Ryan's party at the lake near our house.

Ahhhh end of party, we made it.... first years are the hardest.

That pretty much sums up our short summer.  I am so excited to start making more memories with my family.  I am going to treasure these days as I know pretty soon our summers will be even shorter once the kids start school.
